One more quick note. There's a difference between respectful encouragement to have good manners versus berating children for not saying "please" or "thank you". It sounds like we all have the same goal of having considerate children, but we go about our goals in different ways.

I agree with dmar-697781 in that all people are different. I'm glad that AP parenting has worked for Mayim Bialik. It's great to hear her discuss her parenting style and how well it works for her family. It sounds like she has a couple of well adjusted and happy sons.

Glad to hear your kids grew up to be well rounded people, and you let your children have costumes of the opposite gender for Halloween. It sounds like you're an excellent mom who has 5 lucky kids.I'm the mom that you're questioning about letting a 4 year old wear lipstick.

My 4 1/2 year old son just started asking to wear lipstick. At first I resisted, but I relented when he kept asking days later. It's a serious desire for him, as a 4 year old, if he can remember it days later and ask for it.

Sara and Dex- You are sick and ignorant. If a white Christian married couple had 8 children, they are holy. However, if someone with olive complexion has 8 children, they are illegal aliens on welfare? Nice logic. These people had a bad day and all you can do is spread hate?
